Pendulum Ductile Steel Hanger 1"

This is a replacement 1" Pendulum Ductile Steel Hanger with an oil lite bronze bearing to be used in both ductile iron and stamped steel hangers.  

Installation: 

• Take the bolt out of swing hanger to replace old pendulum with this new one. Make sure that when you place bolt back through bushing in pendulum that the nut is reattached snugly. After tightening, the threads should not be showing more than two threads past the nut. You will need to use S-hooks or shackles from the chain to the swing hangers. Make sure the S-hooks are closed to within .04 to meet ASTM safety standards. To do this you will need to use our S-hook pliers or a regular pair of channel lock pliers. 

WARNING: 

• Once the S-hooks have been opened they will have to be replaced to avoid injuries from coming open and/or breaking. If using an H-shackle the large end goes thru the swing hanger. Using a H175 wrench to open and close bolts. Make sure that if you are using shackles they are also tightened. All fasteners must be closed according to Figure A1.19.   

Safe Use: 

• Adults should supervise children at all times. Do not allow children to use unsafely. Do not allow it to be used if damaged.   

Maintenance: 

• At beginning and end of each play season and once a month during play season, check for sharp edges and/or cracks in hanger, paying particular attention to surface around bolt holes. Check to see if oil lite bearing in swing hanger pendulum is worn or cracking. When worn or cracked, replace pendulum. Check for vandalism. Replace parts if necessary. Check to make sure lock nuts are tight. Maintain detailed inspection and maintenance records for public-use playground equipment.
